Left Koh Chang for Bangkok, with Pattaya halfway, 5 hours or so down the road. Stopping in Pattaya was a “necessary evil”, and regardless, I wanted to give it a look again since I was last here in 2007. As anticipated, the place didn’t do much for me, once again. I am sure there is more to the place than hard-drinking pensioners, ladymen, and weathered bar girls, but I didn’t see much of that in my short stay. One thing about Pattaya struck me: the massive number of Indian restaurants - it's incredible how many there are. Stayed 2 nights, one day, was in bed by 9:00ish (pm) each day (alone, honestly). Major highlight was a truly epic Turkish kebab (would consider returning to Pattaya just for that). Onwards to Bangkok.
