The penultimate (whew, big word!) stage of my SE Asia journey. So close to home, but so much appalling weather. It had been raining for the past few days pretty much non-stop. And this day was the worst yet! I seriously considered not riding, and then stopping the ride - it was just that bad. My Spidi rain gear was useless, it soaked right through.
Yong Peng was the destination, a place I had never heard of. Turns out it's halfway between Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, known as a pit-stop on the 5-hour drive, decent Chinese food a hook (and naughty other things, I am sure). And I amply made the best of it, hosting two solo feasts, including a massive plate of three types of roasted pork (for breakfast).
Otherwise, aside from the rain, the ride was a lame-ass tour through the massive palm plantation that is most of southern peninsular Malaysia. Onwards to Singapore (Forest City, actually) tomorrow, my road trip soon coming to an end!
Ride: 245 km / 4 hours
