From Forest City via Tuas border crossing I made the triumphant ride down the Keppel Expressway to Tanjong Pagar, my prior neighborhood of 10 years, and the location of my current storage locker and remaining possessions in Singapore (Lock+Store, $50/month - truly good value in a very expensive city). Was feeling a bit tickled with the accomplishment of riding around a good chunk of SE Asia over the past 4+ months (including N. Sumatra, which I am documenting separately, as it wasn't on the BMW). Putting a damper on things (no pun intended), like the week before in Malaysia, it was pouring torrential rain non-stop. But that was ok, as I wasn't planning on staying long - aside from collecting some of my stuff, catching up with some friends, and eating some good local hawker food, my main objective in Singapore was to sell my BMW 310gs, which was listed on Carousell.
Some quick nuggets from my SE Asia trip:
- Distance: 12,750 km
- Days: 119 (~4 months)
- Hours: 230 (riding)
- Stops: 58 (KH 8, LA 16, MY 12, TH 21, SG)
- Accidents: 0
- Repairs: 4
- Cost: USD 86/day (including bike repairs, travel ins)
* More to follow when I flesh out a "guide" of the trip
